How to Order a Custom Switchboard (Without the Back-and-Forth)
The information a fabricator needs to quote and build a custom switchboard right the first time — from fault levels to door swing.
Start with the electrical facts
Supply type and capacity, fault level at the supply point, main switch rating, metering arrangement and the circuit schedule. With these five items a fabricator can engineer the busbar, select gear and quote accurately — without them, everyone's guessing.
Then the physical constraints
Wall or floor mount, available footprint, door swing clearance, cable entry direction (top, bottom, rear) and environment (indoor, outdoor, coastal). A board that's electrically perfect but doesn't fit the riser helps nobody.
What good turnaround looks like
With complete information, a straightforward commercial board should be quoted in days and built in weeks — with a drawing to approve before metal gets cut. Local Sydney fabrication means design queries get answered the same day, not the same fortnight.
