Custom Switchboard — Heritage Terrace, Randwick
A compact custom switchboard fabricated to fit the tight recess of a heritage terrace, letting the electrician upgrade the board without altering the protected fabric of the building.
What EVO Supplied
- Custom switchboard fabricated to a non-standard recess dimension
- Chassis and DIN provision for the required protection
- Finish selected to suit the heritage setting
- Confirmed dimensions from the electrician's site measurements
The supply brief
An electrician upgrading the switchboard in a Randwick heritage terrace was working with a tight existing recess that a standard board wouldn't fit. Altering the wall wasn't an option given the heritage constraints. They asked EVO to fabricate a board to a custom dimension so the upgrade could sit within the existing opening.
What EVO fabricated
Working from the electrician's site measurements, we fabricated a compact custom switchboard to the exact recess dimension, with the chassis and DIN provision required for the new protection. A finish was selected to sit comfortably in the heritage setting. Confirming the measurements up front meant the board fit first time.
Installed by the electrician
The electrician removed the old board, installed the new one and carried out the changeover and terminations. EVO fabricated and supplied the custom board to measurement; the installation was entirely the electrician's work.
